Richard Carlson, age 82, of New Richmond died Sunday December 20, 2015 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond surrounded by family. He was born in Woodville, Wisconsin on August 4, 1933 to Willie and Tillie (Williamson) Carlson. He married Carol (Geurkink) Carlson on May 18, 1957. They moved to New Richmond where they still reside. Richard and Carol had 3 children, Cheryl, Sue and Kirk. Richard worked for UBC Lumber Company and the New Richmond School District in the maintenance department. Richard suffered a stroke in March of 1992 which ended his working career. Richard loved hunting, fishing, and working with his hands. He was very talented in many areas. Also he enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, the Green Bay Packers, reading, his grandchildren. He also did upholstery in his free time. Richard loved his family, especially the grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheryl; sister, Irene, brother, Palmer; twin brother, Bob; brothers-in-law, Lynn and Glen; sisters-in-law, Lois and Vallie. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Carol; daughter Sue (Greg); son, Kirk (Trishia); grandchildren, Eric, Brandon, Josie, Sarah, and Jessica; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Kenny Kohlrusch; sister-in-law, Lorraine Geurkink. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless friends, especially Bill W. Richard will be missed by many! Services by Cullen Crea Funeral Home of New Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Monday December 28, 2015 at the West Immanuel Lutheran Church 447 180th street, Osceola, WI 54020. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to service at the church.
