Marguerite Johnson

Marguerite L. (Kelly) Johnson, age 95, of Somerset, WI passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024, in New Richmond, WI surrounded by her family.

Marguerite was born in New Richmond on August 27, 1928, to Margaret (Curry) Kelly and George Kelly, the youngest daughter of five children. Marguerite married Marold Johnson and they raised their 7 children in Somerset, WI.

Marguerite was a homemaker who volunteered her time with the Somerset Library, Red Cross blood drives, and St. Anne Church by counting the offertory, folding bulletins, and serving on the funeral lunch committee.

She was kind and quick-witted and took great pride in her Irish heritage.

Marguerite enjoyed her family most of all. Her Sunday afternoons were dedicated to extended family gatherings. She was a loving mom, grandma, and GG who was greatly loved and will be sincerely missed.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marold; sisters, Helen Wilen, Rita McCarthy, Ethel Hemenway; brother, John “Joe” Kelly; brothers-in-law, Les Wilen, John McCarthy, Al Hemenway, and John Leske; sisters-in law, Shirley Johnson and Maxine Leske; son-in-law, Mike Dalton; nephew, Bill Wilen and niece, Mary Hedlund.

She is survived by her children, Pam Dalton, Kathy (Kevin) Stork, Mark Johnson, Karen Johnson, Susan (Ted) Dimitroff, Linda (Rich) Pederson, and Paul Johnson; 8 grandchildren: Stephanie (Andy) Berends, Heather (Andrew) Rutledge, Kyle (Ashley) Stork, Brittany (Tyler Hansen) Dimitroff, Kody Stork, T. Matthew Dimitroff, Joe (Mariah Kittleson) Johnson, and Marcus (Rachel) Dalton; and 9 great grandchildren: Keira, Lainey, Emery, Scarlett, Declan, Izzy, Gabe, Kenton, and Clea; sister-in-law, Mary Kelly and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church, Somerset, WI, at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 29, 2024, with visitation at the CHURCH two hours prior to Mass.  Interment will take place in the St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Lakeview Hospice and St. Croix Health Center for their loving, compassionate and professional care in her last days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Anne Catholic Church, Lakeview Hospice, or your favorite charity.

Arrangements will be handled by the CullenCrea Funeral Home in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
