Joyce Ann Hecht
May 15th, 1933 – October 26th, 2024
Joyce was born in Somerset, Wisconsin on May 15, 1933. She was the oldest of 3 children born to Edmund and Mary Klink. She started her education at Sand Hill School and then St. Anne’s Catholic School in Somerset and completed her primary education in June of 1947. She went on to further her education at St. Paul Beauty School. She was an accomplished beautician for many years.
She was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Catholic Church for her entire life, and she had a deep and profound Catholic faith. Her faith was the center of her life and inspired so many over the years. She was an active member of the Ladies of St. Anne’s, the funeral committee and received a distinguished alumni award.
She married Donald “Bud” Hecht on June 25th of 1955, and their marriage resulted in 7 children who she adored. She was married to Donald until his death on September 19, 1985.
Joyce was also employed for many years by Andersen Windows in Bayport MN from 1975 until her retirement. She was much beloved by her coworkers. She had a strong work ethic that she passed on to all her children. She enjoyed her retirement with travel, her time with her large family and many friends.
She loved her home overlooking the Apple River in Somerset. She welcomed all who visited her over the years, and she will be greatly missed by so many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Edmund Klink, her husband Donald and brothers Lyle Klink and Curtis Klink.
She is survived by her 7 children: Suzanne (Charles) Frazier, Gerald “Hector” (Terri) Hecht, Robert (Carol) Hecht, Constance (Rick Carufel) Hecht, Maureen (Wes) Klatt, Lawrence (Sandi) Hecht and Anthony Hecht. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and their spouses who she greatly loved, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00AM on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St Anne’s Catholic Church (141 Church Hill Road) in Somerset, with Father Jim Brinkmann officiating. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery following the Mass. A time of visitation will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church prior to the Mass, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
A luncheon will be served immediately after the Interment.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Orchard View Terrace and St. Croix Health Center who cared for our beloved mother since September of 2023.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Anne School endowment.
