Timothy John Sullivan, age 85, passed away peacefully at home in New Richmond, Wisconsin, on Thursday, August 23, 2018. He was born to Raymond and Esther Sullivan, and was blessed with siblings Jim, Bill, Ray, Francis, Mary Alice, Joann, Rosemary, and Norman. As true of most Irish Catholic farmers, his roots were deep and plentiful, and his heart never truly left the farm where he was born. Surrounded by countless aunts, uncles and cousins, he spent his youth working on the farm. He graduated from New Richmond High School in 1950 and began working at Andersen Corporation, retiring as a Production Supervisor after nearly 43 years. He was proud to be in the Andersen Quarter-Century Club and a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member. He taught us how to work hard, be of service to others, and always take care of family.
He was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Scott in November 1962. Their family grew to five children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The doors were never locked and were always open to family, friends and neighbors. Papa enjoyed camping, traveling, collecting cars, reading Louis L’Amour books, puzzles, and an occasional trip downtown to socialize.
He lived a productive, blessed life, but he was tired at the end of his long journey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, 6 of his siblings, beloved wife Mary (2013), and cherished son Timmy (2015). He is survived by his children Patricia (Amere) Watkins, Colleen (Kurt) Rasmussen, John Sullivan (Laci), and Bridget (John) Edwards. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Amere Watkins II (Meghan), Christian Sullivan, Brianna (Michael) Dagastino, Daniel Sullivan, Nicholas Rasmussen, Alyson Sullivan, Madelaine Sullivan and Brenna Sullivan; Great-grandchildren Olyvia and Talia Watkins. He will be especially missed by Christian Sullivan, who was his daily caretaker and constant companion. He is also survived by his sister Rosemary Springer, brother Norman Sullivan and their families.
Visitation will be held at Cullen Crea Funeral Home of New Richmond, WI, from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, August 26th, with Celebration of Life and Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday, August 27th, at 11:00 am. Visitation at the church one hour prior to the service and luncheon following.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Westfields Hospital & Clinics, Lakeview Hospice Care Team and New Richmond Area Ambulance Service for their amazing care. Also, a huge thank you to the neighbors, friends, and family who have participated in Papa’s care.
