Philip Martin LaVenture, age 82, passed away on November 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 27, 1935 to Philip J. and Bernice (Martin) La Venture in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Philip graduated from New Richmond Highschool and went on to attend college at St. Thomas and River Falls. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Rotary, ABC, and SCR&A. Philip enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ellie Keilen and Susan Johnson.
Philip is survived by his beloved wife, Pat (Padden) LaVenture; son, James (Jessie Hillman) LaVenture; daughters, Bridget (Tim) Kelley, Bernadette (EJ) L’Allier, Anne LaVenture Anez; brothers, Joseph, Edward, Patrick, Martin; sisters, Kathy, Louise, Margie, Julie; grandchildren, Shallyn (Joe) Simma, Michelle (Jake) Simma, Samantha (Eric) Moeker, Jerrod Berget, Jordan Berget, Bob Kelley, Brianna L’Allier, Nicole L’Allier, Amanda Anez, Chris Anez, Jim LaVenture, Jacob LaVenture; great grandchildren Linden Simma, Hanna Simma, and Riley Simma.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday November 24, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to Mass at the church. Interment at parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to be donated to Philip’s favorite charities.
